Our creativity at the service of your project

Yasmin Nicoucar-Steininger

The Nicoucar Steininger Architectes office, based in Geneva, has existed since 2005. It favors quality architectural projects with a definite desire to include a good dose of creativity and experimentation.

In addition to luxury apartments with multiple drawers and establishments that make you want to go back to school, the office is also involved in mid- and high-altitude architecture, sensitive to conservation and implementation. value of a natural heritage integrated into its environment.
The office is notably at the origin of Cernier's Whitepods.

Yasmin Nicoucar-Steininger, founder of the office with Nicolas Steininger, obtained her architecture degree from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in 1998, before settling for five years on the American East Coast where she worked for some major New York offices (Eisenman Architects, Asymptote, Rafael Viñoly Architects).

Since 2020, she is one of the few women to run her own architectural office.

Our Values

1 – The value of time
Made to last, the construction has a certain inertia as such. Each mandate requires careful consideration, as our office does not offer ready-made recipes that would apply to each mandate.
Each property is the subject of in-depth consideration before any project. of works

2 – The value of the site
Because each building is part of a place, we consider this parameter to be fundamental in the genesis of any project. This is why the office pays particular attention to the integration of an object into its environment, its visual impact and the materiality of its envelope.

3 – The value of the property

Restoring, preserving, transforming and renovating are some of the major actions of our profession. In an era that wants to be conscious, sustainable and efficient, we have specialized in the transformation of existing buildings. This is in order to prescribe appropriate interventions to them, to make them last over time, and to reveal them to themselves.

The tracks

  • Reinterpret the spirit of the place, reclaim the different spaces and consider that each room deserves special attention and care.

  • Make spaces evolving in order to be able to modify them according to the day, the seasons, the light that passes through these spaces, the users, the evolution of the family structure.

  • Take care in the choice of materials with an emphasis on the raw and living side of elements that patina, but live with/in time.
